Faraland — battle of crystal
A long long time ago, during the great war, six warriors sacrificed themselves to cast the ancient magic that sealed the Demon Lord Beelzebub and brought peace to Faraland. Their bodies turned into six crystals. Legend has it that if one of the six crystals is broken, the magical bond will be weakened. The Demon Lord will once again rise and threaten the lives of all mankind.
Six races inherited the power and knowledge of the six warriors, and are responsible for protecting the six magic crystals.
Blood Crystal: Orcs (life controlling, instant healing, enhanced stamina, incredible health)
Travel Crystal: Humans (teleportation, cross-dimensional transportation)
Metamorph Crystal: Dragonborns (disguise, skill/trait-borrowing)
Spirit Crystal: Angels (spiritual manipulation, mind reading, puppet manipulation)
Voodoo Crystal: Elves (magic controlling, mass healing, natural savior)
Time Crystal: Fairy (Time control: Foreseeing, altering, accelerating/decelerating)
Each race must have strict rules set forth in order to select a Guardian. The Guardian will be the one to receive unparalleled power from the Magic Crystal and have the noble task of protecting the Magic Crystal to their last drop of blood. Guardians are selected from the most qualified children in each race. Those talents will then undergo 10 years of rigorous training before winning a competition at the Grand Colosseum at the age of 16 to be selected as the best candidate.
The Guardian’s life has only one purpose: to protect the Magic Crystal from evil forces. The Magic Crystal, in addition to sealing the Demon Lord Beelzebub, is also a stone that converges the power and knowledge of the whole race. Therefore, the Magic Crystal is not only hunted down by the descendants of the Demon Lord but also by those who desire power and wish to become Rulers by possessing the ultimate magics. They could be amongst any race, living upright by day just to turn their backs on the whole race by night. Therefore, Guardians are trained to have an iron heart, with no affection and faith.
Overview of the world after the Great War — Post-Apocalypse The world is a ruin where skyscrapers are only remnants. Oceans were shrunk, abysses and swamps sprung everywhere. Days were shortened, and sunlight was limited to some lands such as the abode of humans and fairies. Angels seemed to have disappeared, after breaking the bridge connecting Heavenland and the World. Some say they have been destroyed, others say that they have simply completed their mission to save the world and return to their land of heaven.
Demons crept into the world, trying to infiltrate into the races to find a way to steal the Magic Crystals to bring back the Demon Lord to take over the World again. If demons want to increase their strength, they have to kill more and more so that their blood-thirsty dark magic will fester. Demonic powers will immensely grow especially after killing puny, magical beings such as Fairies. Humans, known for being weak species, were gifted with scientific power and have become the most empowered race in the world. However, after the Great War, human civilization was almost completely destroyed, and all modern technological achievements are now solely legends of the past. They still hold the technology of metallurgy and mining but in the most primitive form.
Due to their weak physique, Humans can only live in Nevergate — the land of resources and minerals with properties that make magic useless, which accounts for 30% of the world’s area. It was the Non-Magic element that formed a net to protect humans from the attacks of other species. Humans, with a short life cycle, could reproduce quickly and grow in number very quickly, so resources are increasingly depleted. Humans are forced to step out of Nevergate in search of a new food source.
The north of the fertile land where Humans live shares its border with Whalehelm — the frozen land where dwell the Orcs. Therefore, the bloodthirsty, aggressive Orcs always organize attacks to seize Humans’ resources. What's worse, Orcs consider Human women as birth tools and slaves, so they always want to possess them. Human women carry good genes — to reproduce smart, agile, and clever offspring — so the hybrid child of Orc and Human always has both strength and intelligence. Noble Orcs also believe that the more human slaves they own, the higher their status and strength in society.
Elves are the spirits of the deep forest. They have a lifespan of hundreds of years, but due to their slow reproductive capacity, they do not grow much in number. They have a lot of knowledge of ancient magic and know how to connect with nature. Elves retreat to the primeval forests to live their quiet lives. But Human greed is bottomless. Not only do they want powerful weapons, Humans also want to possess magic.
Elves' tears are a special catalyst in the creation of weapons with magic, so there was a time when Elves were hunted, imprisoned, and tortured by humans. Since then, they swore not to trust anyone.
Fairy holds the magic of caring for and protecting flowers. Their land lies south of Nevergate, where the climate is mild and cool with millions of flowers blooming all year round. There exist flowers that seem small but have magical power not inferior to any magic. Fairies are beautiful creatures. It seems that their hearts are as beautiful and pure as their appearance. But no, Fairies love their own beauty to the point of madness. And in order to maintain their eternal youthful beauty, they need to capture the infatuated hearts of other species. When a heart filled with love suffers and breaks into tears, a Fairy absorbs more energy to maintain her appearance.
Dragonborn — dragon race, the world’s oldest creatures, are rumored to live on the mysterious continent of Atlantis. But in reality, this continent is just an illusion to deceive those who look for the power of the dragon race. This continent is a mirror gate (which is opened only for the pure-hearted who do not desire to possess the power of dragons) leading to the deep ocean floor — where Edinburgh Castle is located. The secret of this castle is the dimensional portals connecting to the lands of other races. No one knows that many Dragonborns live with Humans, thanks to their camouflage ability. They only return to Edinburgh on special holy occasions.
