Skill Books
On December 24, 2021, Faraland launched a new item that had been long awaited – Skill books. These items play a huge role in Faraland’s gameplay. Let us take a dive in and learn more about the mechanisms of this mysterious equipment.
1. What is a Skill Book?
Before diving into the details, we want players to understand thoroughly the idea of skill types in Faraland. All skills in the game are divided into 2 main types:
Skill tree of each race: This is a unique and available skill system on each hero. Players need to reach a certain level to acquire skill points which can be used to add index points to a skill. These skill sets represent the strengths and characteristics of each race. Skill trees will have diverse building paths, players can build a character in a path that is suitable for their squad. (Note: This function will be update later.)
Skill book: Skill book is a special type of NFT item that can be consumed (consumable NFT) which is available for all heroes to learn. It also can be traded on the market like normal NFT items. BUT once consumed, it will be bound to the NFT hero forever and cannot be undone. Each skill book will give the hero an additional skill, the number of skills that a hero can learn is unlimited. Each Skill book can only be used once.
Players can choose the skills that are suitable for their own strategy. And skill books will have many different rarities (the lowest is Rare), and some special skill books cannot be used in PvP (only PvE). Players can choose to combine the learned hero skill book with the original skill combination of each race to create their unique styles and tactics. When the PvP function is released, the statistics of all heroes on the homepage (including skill books and items) will be hidden to ensure a tactical gameplay for players. While playing the game, the hero will have the opportunity to learn many skill books which will accumulate its value in the long run.
NOTE: The same hero can learn level 1, 2 and 3 books at the same time, but a level 3 skill will not replace the level 1 version of the skill. For example, although Level 3 skill book is powerful, it requires more mana than level 1 skill book. Sometimes it is necessary to mix and match a variety of skills to have the most effectiveness in battle.
2. Mechanism of Skill Books in Faraland
The skill book system in Faraland is very diverse and it will definitely be an item that requires time and effort in researching to find the ultimate strategy for players. Skill books can be obtained from Gacha or by defeating special Bosses in the game.
2.1. Main types of Skill books in Faraland
Physical Skill book (with the Sword symbol)
Magic Skill book (with the Jewel symbol)
Elemental Skill books (with corresponding Elemental symbols)
2.2. Bonus mechanism from Elements
Some Skill books will carry an elemental matter, the hero with a corresponding element will be granted bonus skill effect after learning the Skill book . Heroes with the different elemental system can still learn the skill book, but will not receive the power bonus. The decision is up to the player, we want to create a gameplay that is highly customizable and imprints with unique individual’s strategies.
For example: “Storm of Legion” Skill has Thunder element. If a Thunder Hero learns it, the skill damage will be increased by 10%.
2.3. Bonus mechanism from body parts
In addition to the bonus from the Element, heroes with special Body parts after learning the skill book will be granted with other bonuses. The more rare Body parts a Hero possesses, the more effective the skills will be! Body parts with Mythical and Legend rarity will get the most power bonus from skill books.
For example: The skill “Storm of Legion” will increase in strength
So, for each Body part on the hero it will look like this:
Increases damage by 0.5% for each Rare part
Increases damage by 1% for each Epic part
Increases damage by 2% for each Legendary part
Increases damage by 5% for each Mythical part
(bonus can be rebalanced in the future)
2.4. Upgrading Skill books
Skill book can be upgraded like other items, up to Tier 3. The upgrade mechanism is also combining many similar Skill books with the same tier into one Skill book with a high tier. The higher the skill book tier, the stronger the skill will be.
Winter Treasure Gacha on December 24 will be the first opportunity for players to own a Skill book, don’t miss out!
